Hi,

Happy first official day of summer! Drop 2 is finally here, just in time for sexy summertime lounging. I’ll be back in a couple of weeks with some news and details regarding our upcoming no-waste collaboration mentioned below in our Spring 2024 update, but in the mean time check out our newest arrival:The Thong. I think if you click the photo below you can read the launch newsletter. Oh- and check out our gallery to grab a sneak peek of our summer 2024 lookbook, also coming soon. OK, that’s all for now. Love you!

SPRING 2024 UPDATE

WHAT’S NEW WITH EQ? | 5/15/2024

Hi,

I’m so bad at this newsletter / blogging stuff. I keep meaning to send just one blast or post one update a month, but then I don’t because I forget or I convince myself I have nothing noteworthy to share or I spend three weeks in a bipolar depressive episode feeling like nothing matters, especially slutty loungewear emails. OR i’m so annoyed with my own inbox overload that I don’t want to contribute any further to anyone else’s inbox overload. You get it I’m sure. But let’s catch up.. I’ll fill you in on what’s been going on BTS, what’s new and what’s coming to EQ. Maybe this is a better approach anyway. Less is more when it comes to newsletters.

So, what is new with Early Quit? A few things! First up is a collab with EQ model, @arthealchemist. Arlene is a multi-talented, beautiful both inside and out- creative who enjoys spending her time DJ-ing and painting. Her brand @awavystar felt like the perfect first collab for EQ. Arlene carefully places an imperfect star on each tank, representing the uniqueness and imperfections we all carry. These particular stars will be placed on a handful of our very own *imperfect* CLOUD mini tanks. These are the tank tops that had a slight stitch off, or small discrepancy that I did not feel comfortable selling at full price. Arlene gives them new life & a new purpose. We will have a very limited amount of pieces available this summer. I will send a newsletter when they launch, I promise! See below for Arlene in our CLOUD set and the first Wavy Star x Early Quit mini tank prototype that she created.

Drop 2 is coming along! Our thongs are well on their way to completion as our production started in late March. I know it seems like a long time to wait- but this is the way of the small batch, slow fashion business. Annie and her very small team (it’s just two of them) make each EQ piece with love and care at her small studio in New York City’s garment district. This sustainable approach to garment making takes time and patience on my end; something I’m happy to give them in order to bring you USA, NYC made ~casual lingerie~. I’ve been the most excited about the thongs tbh. I wanted something that would give me a little more coverage in the front without sacrificing any sexiness around the hip area. I was drawn to the French cut and high-cut bikinis of the 90’s because I liked the way they covered my lower stomach but left little to the imagination around the leg hole and hip area. It took four rounds of sampling to get the fit just right, but it was well worth it in the end. The thicker Y shape on the back creates a wedgie that gives even the tiniest & most delicate booty a plumping & chomping effect (trust me, you’ll see what I mean by “chomping” soon enough).

This batch of thongs will be made from the same ribbed modal as our micro shorties & mini tanks. I wouldn’t call this fabric our *signature or staple* fabric by any means, but I did have some yardage leftover from drop one and it felt irresponsible to not use it for drop 2. The ribbed modal is so soft and offers a nice stretch thanks to the 4% spandex that make up the fabric composition. I ultimately went with the modal blend over the organic cotton because of the laundry tests I ran on the fabric samples. The modal held up way better: offering less fade and significantly less pilling. In fact, my own personal pieces have yet to pill and I wear my mini tanks with vigor and conviction. Overall, modal was the better choice due to the nature of how these garments are intended to be worn: sexy times, dirty times, perhaps slutty times? Surely for the zest of life times. Modal fabric offers more breathability than cotton. Better moisture retention, and sweat absorption as well.

Oh by the way, I keep forgetting to tell you this fun fact! On our micro shorties: we added a stitch into the elastic waistband because spinning elastics is a pet peeve of mine. I wanted to give you a North Star, a home base. Should your shorties waistband start to alligator roll, just stand up, find the stitch, place your thumb and pointer around it and reset your elastic by smoothing out the band with your other thumb and pointer. The thongs will offer the same waistband rescue measure and I’m 99% sure I’ll forget to include this tip in the website description so here it is.

The next thing I want to talk about is how I’m so excited to be working with some new photographers both near & far (mostly far). I love seeing how other photogs have been styling the sets & even getting outside now that it’s not winter. I started to post some of the new images on our Instagram page (@earlyquit) however I’m still in IG jail for a community guidelines violation- so there is a really good chance you have not seen anything I’ve posted for a while now. The first set of images to roll in were from Portland (Maine) photographer Kennedy Canfield (@spitephotography) and she captured some really nice moments in both the INK and CLOUD shorties and tanks. Her photographs capturing the perfect amount of beauty and gloom and normalcy and weird and pretty but also hot-which at the core is exactly what I want for this little brand. I hope to work with her many more times. I’ll be sharing more of her work for EQ over the next couple of weeks on both our website and our IG page, but in the meantime, here’s a few of my favorites:

Last thing I wanted to talk about is customer photos :) I love it when you guys feel called to self shoot in the pieces I have designed. I’m so happy you’re feeling sexy and confident and inspired & I feel so honored when you share them with me. Please feel free to send me as many as you’d like as often as you’d like for our social media and website use. I just ask that you let me know if you want to be tagged or not because I never want to assume someone wants their booty tagged on the internet just because they sent me their images. Remaining anonymous is absolutely an option. :)

Speaking of customer photos, my beautiful IG friend Bella not only placed an order during my birthday sale, but also text me a couple weeks later to send me some shots she grabbed both digitally and on 35mm. I wanted to cry! Im so grateful and thankful for each and every order placed, and this extra show of love and support was really incredible to receive, especially after such a slow winter. I’ll post a few favorites below and you can see some more on our GALLERY page. (I try to update the gallery every couple of weeks, or whenever I do a new photoshoot or collaboration.)

Ok, that wraps up my springtime catch up. I’ll be back in a couple of weeks (maybe even a few days!) with details regarding the thong / Drop 2 launch date. I truly hope you’re all doing well and are happy. And if you’re not I hope that everything gets better for you really soon. Here are a couple of my favorite memes and things from the past few weeks as a little treat for making it this far.

xoxo,

Keri
